‘Polifonia’ Final Joint Working Groups’ Meeting took place in Vilnius on 18-20 June 2010.
The third and final meeting of all working groups of ‘Polifonia’ took place on 18-20 June 2010 in Vilnius, Lithuania. The Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre hosted the two days meeting, where the working groups worked on finalizing their work. Aside from each working group working on their tasks, all working groups came together for a joint session where they updated each other on their progress and discussed recent European developments and the future of the project. The agendas of each working group can be found on the ‘Polifonia’ website along with the formation and tasks of each working group.
Upcoming ‘Polifonia’ presentations and workshops.
During the AEC Annual Meeting for International Relations Coordinators in Istanbul in September 2010, presentations will be held on the ‘Polifonia’ project, its working groups and tasks, and on the AEC Institutional and Programme Review Scheme that has been developed within the framework of ‘Polifonia’. In November 2010, each working group will hold workshops and present their final products during the AEC Annual Congress in Warsaw. Keep informed by checking the websites and the programmes of both events.
Upcoming ‘Polifonia’ publications.
In addition to the third and final newsletter of ‘Polifonia’, three new documents will be published during the autumn. The Bologna Working Group is finalising the Handbook on Admission and Assessment in Higher Music Education: Characteristics, criteria and procedures, the Research Working Group is going to publish the pocketbook Researching Conservatoires – Enquiry, Innovation and the Development of Artistic Practice in Higher Music Education, and the working group for Instrumental Vocal Music Teacher Training is working on the publication Instrumental and Vocal Teacher Education: a European perspective. These publications will be translated and printed in three languages. In addition, updated versions of the handbook How to prepare for an Institutional or Programme Review in Higher Music Education and the framework document Quality Assurance and Accreditation in Higher Music Education: characteristics, criteria and procedures will also become available in three languages.
Formal Accreditation visit in Karlsruhe 4-7 July 2010.
At the beginning of July, an accreditation visit took place at the Hochschule für Musik in Karlsruhe in cooperation with the German accreditation agency ZEvA. This was the 9th accreditation visit in cooperation with a national accreditation agency which took place within the framework of ‘Polifonia’. In total, 16 informal and formal review visits took place. One more visit to Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre in Vilnius is scheduled for September 2010. ‘Polifonia’ at the 4th International Conference “Modernization of Higher Music Education and Implementation of the Bologna Process Principles in Russia, Countries of CIS and Europe”.
Representatives of the Bologna and Accreditation Working Groups will be present at the 4th International Conference “Modernization of Higher Music Education and Implementation of the Bologna Process Principles in Russia, Countries of CIS and Europe” hosted by the St. Petersburg State Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory on 26-28 September 2010. The conference will feature a general presentation of the European higher music education of today, demonstrations of different ways of developmental progress of higher musical education in European and CIS countries, and explorations of labor markets in music and employment opportunities of graduates.
Conference of the INVITE Working Group April 2010.
The conference of the ‘Polifonia’ working group for Instrumental/Vocal Music Teacher Training (INVITE) took place on at DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama on 16-17 April 2010. Despite the Icelandic ash cloud which severely disrupted air travel, the conference took place with an adjusted format. The presentations of the conference are currently available on the conference website. Please check the conference website again, as a report of all sessions that took place will be available on the website soon.
‘Polifonia’ INVITE working group to be presented at the ISME Conference.
The work of the INVITE working group will be presented during the ISME World Conference in Beijing, China through a paper written by the group. The ISME World Conference covers every possible aspect of music education and learning with paper presentations, round-table symposia, workshops, class lesson demonstrations and concerts.
Recent ‘Polifonia’ counseling and site visits.
The last counselling visit within the framework of ‘Polifonia’ took place at the Conservatorio di Musica "Giorgio Ghedini" in Cuneo, Italy in May 2010. This brings up the total number of counselling visits within the project to 17. More information on the counselling visits can be found on the Bologna and Music website. Furthermore, the ‘Polifonia’ Research Working Group is conducting site visits to conservatoires to investigate research activities in these institutions. Three more site visits took place in June in Conservatorium van Amsterdam, University of Music and Performing Arts Graz and Queensland Conservatorium in Australia. The results of the site visits will be included in the pocket book of the Research Working Group as case studies.

Troisième et dernière rencontre des groupes de travail « Polifonia » à Vilnius, 18-20 juin 2010.
La troisième et dernière rencontre de tous les groupes de travail « Polifonia » a eu lieu du 18 au 20 juin 2010 à Vilnius, en Lituanie. Accueillis pendant deux jours à l’Académie lituanienne de musique et de théâtre, les groupes ont finalisé leurs travaux. En plus des sessions individuelles, une séance commune a permis d’échanger sur l’avancement des travaux respectifs, les dernières évolutions au niveau européen et l’avenir du projet. Les agendas de la rencontre ainsi que des informations sur la composition des groupes et sur les tâches qui leur sont assignées sont disponibles sur le site internet "Polifonia".
Présentations et ateliers « Polifonia » à venir.
Lors de la prochaine Rencontre annuelle des coordinateurs des relations internationales de l'AEC à Istanbul en septembre 2010, le projet « Polifonia », ses groupes de travail et leurs tâches seront présentés lors d’une session parallèle ; une autre session portera sur le mécanisme d’évaluation des établissements et des programmes d’enseignements proposé par l’AEC élaboré dans le cadre de « Polifonia ». En novembre 2010, chaque groupe de travail organisera ses propres ateliers et présentera ses résultats lors du Congrès annuel de l'AEC, à Varsovie. Actualisez régulièrement votre information sur les sites internet de ces deux évènements.
Prochaines publications « Polifonia »
Outre la troisième et dernière lettre d’infos « Polifonia », trois nouveaux documents paraitront à l’automne. Le groupe de travail « Bologne » finalise le Manuel des procédures d'admission et d'évaluation dans les établissements d'enseignement musical supérieur ; le groupe de travail « Recherche » publie en version poche La recherche dans les Conservatoires – enquête, innovation et évolution de la pratique artistique dans l’enseignement musical supérieur ; le groupe « formation des professeurs d’instrument et de chant » prépare Formation des professeurs d’instrument et de chant : une perspective européenne. Ces publications seront traduites et publiées en trois langues. Par ailleurs, les mises à jour du manuel « Comment préparer l'évaluation d'un établissement ou d'un programme d'enseignement musical supérieur ? » et du document-cadre « L'Assurance qualité et l'accréditation dans l'enseignement musical supérieur : caractéristiques, critères et procédures » seront également disponibles en trois langues.
Visite officielle en vue d’une accréditation à Karlsruhe, du 4 au 7 juillet 2010.
La visite de conseil effectuée début juillet à la Hochschule für Musik de Karlsruhe en collaboration avec l’agence allemande d’accréditation ZEvA était la 9ème visite de ce type dans le cadre de « Polifonia ». Au total, 16 visites – formelles et informelles – d’évaluation ont eu lieu. La prochaine visite est programmée pour septembre 2010 à l’Académie lituanienne de musique et de théâtre de Vilnius. Présence de « Polifonia » à la 4ème conférence internationale sur la « Modernisation de l’enseignement musical supérieur et mise en œuvre des principes du processus de Bologne en Russie, dans la CEI et en Europe »
Des représentants des groupes de travail « Bologne » et « Accréditation » seront présents à la 4ème conférence internationale sur la “Modernisation de l'enseignement musical supérieur et mise en œuvre des principes du processus de Bologne en Russie, dans la CEI et en Europe” qui aura lieu du 26 au 28 septembre 2010 au Conservatoire Rimski-Korsakov de Saint-Pétersbourg. Au programme : un aperçu général de la situation actuelle de l’enseignement musical supérieur en Europe ; des présentations de diverses approches pertinentes pour le progrès et le développement de l’enseignement musical supérieur en Europe et dans la CEI ; des études des marchés du travail dans le domaine de la musique et des possibilités d’emploi pour les jeunes diplômés.
Conférence du groupe de travail INVITE - avril 2010.
Le groupe de travail ‘Polifonia’ sur la formation des professeurs d'instrument et de chant (INVITE) a tenu conférence au Conservatoire de musique et d'art dramatique de Dublin (DIT) les 16 & 17 avril 2010. Suite à l’éruption du volcan islandais et à la désorganisation du trafic aérien, le programme de la conférence a été quelque peu remanié. Les présentations sont actuellement disponibles sur le site internet de la conférence. Un compte-rendu des séances effectivement tenues sera bientôt en ligne.
Présentation du groupe de travail INVITE de « Polifonia » à la conférence ISME.
Les travaux du groupe de travail « Polifonia » sur la formation des professeurs de chant et d’instrument (INVITE) seront présentés à la Conférence mondiale ISME à Beijing, en Chine. Présentations d’articles, tables rondes, ateliers, démonstrations de cours collectifs et concerts aborderont tous les aspects de l’éducation et de la formation musicales.
« Polifonia » : récentes visites d’établissements.
La dernière visite de conseil en date de ‘Polifonia’, en mai 2010, au Conservatorio di Musica "Giorgio Ghedini" de Cuneo (Italie), porte à 17 le nombre total de ces visites dans le cadre du projet. Vous trouverez plus d’information sur les visites de conseil sur le site Bologne et la musique. Par ailleurs, le groupe de travail « Polifonia » sur la recherche effectue des visites de terrain dans les conservatoires pour y étudier les activités liées à la recherche. Trois visites d’établissements ont eu lieu en juin : au Conservatoire d'Amsterdam, à l’Université de musique et d'art dramatique de Graz et au Conservatoire du Queensland, Australie. Les résultats de ces visites seront inclus en tant qu’études de cas dans la publication du groupe « Recherche » mentionnée précédemment.

Gemeinsame Abschlussversammlung der „Polifonia”-Arbeitsgruppen in Vilnius von 18.-20. Juni 2010.
Die dritte und letzte Versammlung sämtlicher „Polifonia“-Arbeitsgruppen fand von 18.-20. Juni 2010 in Vilnius, Litauen, statt. Die Litauische Akademie für Musik und Theater war Gastgeberin dieser zweitägigen Versammlung, die den Arbeitsgruppen dazu diente, ihre Arbeit zum Abschluss zu bringen. Die einzelnen Arbeitsgruppen arbeiteten nicht nur für sich an ihren jeweiligen Aufgaben, sondern sie traten auch alle in einer gemeinsamen Sitzung zusammen, bei der man sich über den Arbeitsfortschritt auf dem Laufenden hielt und über jüngste europäische Entwicklungen sowie die Zukunft des Projektes diskutierte. Die Agenden der einzelnen Arbeitsgruppen sowie Informationen über ihre Zusammensetzung und Aufgaben sind auf der „Polifonia”-Website zu finden.

Bei der kommenden AEC-Jahresversammlung der Beauftragten für internationale Beziehungen in Istanbul im September 2010 werden Präsentationen zum „Polifonia“-Projekt, den jeweiligen Arbeitsgruppen und ihren Aufgaben sowie zum AEC-Schema für die Revision von Institutionen und Studiengängen, das im Rahmen von „Polifonia“ entwickelt wurde, gegeben werden. Bei der AEC-Jahresversammlung in Warschau im November 2010 wird jede Arbeitsgruppe Workshops geben und ihre abschließenden Arbeitsergebnisse präsentieren. Bleiben Sie auf dem Laufenden, indem Sie die Websites und Programme beider Veranstaltungen regelmäßig lesen.
Nächste „Polifonia“-Veröffentlichungen.
Zusätzlich zum dritten und letzten „Polifonia”-Newsletter werden im Herbst drei neue Dokumente veröffentlicht werden. Die Bologna-Arbeitsgruppe ist dabei, das Handbuch zur Zulassung und Bewertung in der Musikhochschulbildung: Charakteristika, Kriterien und Verfahrensweisen fertigzustellen. Die Forschungsarbeitsgruppe wird ein Taschenbuch mit dem Titel Forschende Musikhochschulen – Recherche, Innovation und Entwicklung von künstlerischer Praxis in der Musikhochschulbildung herausgeben, und die Arbeitsgruppe für die Ausbildung von Instrumental- und Gesangslehrern arbeitet an einer Publikation mit dem Titel Ausbildung von Instrumental- und Gesangslehrern: eine europäische Perspektive. Diese Publikationen werden in drei Sprachen übersetzt und gedruckt werden. Zusätzlich werden aktualisierte Versionen des Handbuchs Wie man eine Revision von Institutionen oder Studiengängen in der Musikhochschulbildung vorbereitet sowie des Rahmendokuments Qualitätssicherung und Akkreditierung in der Musikhochschulbildung: Charakteristika, Kriterien und Verfahrensweisen werden ebenfalls in drei Sprachen verfügbar sein.
Formeller Akkreditierungsbesuch in Karlsruhe von 4.-7. Juli 2010.
Anfang Juli fand an der Hochschule für Musik in Karlsruhe in Zusammenarbeit mit der deutschen Akkreditierungsagentur ZEvA ein Akkreditierungsbesuch statt. Dies war der 9. „Polifonia“-Akkreditierungsbesuch, der in Zusammenarbeit mit einer nationalen Akkreditierungsagentur durchgeführt wurde. Insgesamt fanden 16 informelle und formelle Akkreditierungsbesuche statt. Ein weiterer Besuch an der Litauischen Akademie für Musik und Theater in Vilnius ist für September 2010 geplant. „Polifonia” bei der 4. internationalen Konferenz „Modernisierung der Musikhochschulbildung und Implementierung der Grundsätze des Bologna-Prozesses in Russland, den GUS-Staaten und Europa“
Repräsentanten der Bologna- und Akkreditierungsarbeitsgruppen werden an der 4. Internationalen Konferenz „Modernisierung der Musikhochschulbildung und Implementierung der Grundsätze des Bologna-Prozesses in Russland, den GUS-Staaten und Europa” teilnehmen, die vom Rimsky-Korsakov-Konservatorium in St. Petersburg von 26.-28. September 2010 ausgerichtet wird. Die Konferenz sieht allgemeine Präsentationen zur aktuellen Musikhochschulbildung in Europa, Demonstrationen unterschiedlicher Arten der Entwicklungsfortschritte in der Musikhochschulbildung in europäischen Ländern und GUS-Staaten sowie Erforschungen des Musikarbeitsmarktes und der Beschäftigungsmöglichkeiten für Studienabsolventen vor.
Konferenz zur INVITE-Arbeitsgruppe im April 2010.
Die Konferenz der „Polifonia”-Arbeitsgruppe für die Ausbildung von Instrumental/Gesangsalehrern (INVITE) wurde am 16. und 17. April 2010 am DIT Conservatory of Music and Drama ausgerichtet. Trotz der isländischen Aschewolke, die den Flugverkehr nachhaltig beeinträchtigte, fand die Konferenz in einer den Umständen angepassten Form statt. Die Präsentationen der Konferenz sind derzeit auf der Konferenz-Website verfügbar. Bitte besuchen Sie die Website zu einem späteren Zeitpunkt noch einmal, da ein Bericht über sämtliche Sitzungen dort schon bald abrufbar sein wird.
„Polifonia”-INVITE-Arbeitsgruppe wird bei der ISME-Konferenz vorgestellt.
Die Arbeit der INVITE-Arbeitsgruppe wird bei der ISME-Weltkonferenz in Peking, China in Form eines von der Gruppe verfassten Vortrags präsentiert werden. Im Rahmen von Vorträgen, Runden-Tischen, Workshops, öffentlichen Unterrichtsstunden und Konzerten deckt die ISME-Weltkonferenz alle nur denkbaren Aspekte der Ausbildung und des Erlernens von Musik ab.
Jüngste „Polifonia“-Berater- und Vor-Ort-Besuche.
Im Mai 2010 fand zuletzt ein „Polifonia“-Beraterbesuch am Conservatorio di Musica „Giorgio Ghedini" in Cuneo, Italien, statt. Somit sind mittlerweile insgesamt 17 Beraterbesucher innerhalb dieses Projektes durchgeführt worden. Weitere Informationen zu den Beraterbesuchen sind auf der „Bologna and Music“-Website zu finden. Ferner führt die „Polifonia”-Forschungsarbeitsgruppe „Vor-Ort-Besuche” an Musikhochschulen durch, um die Forschungsaktivitäten dieser Institutionen zu erkunden. Drei weitere Vor-Ort-Besuche fanden im Juni am Conservatorium van Amsterdam, an der Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Graz sowie am Queensland Conservatorium in Australien statt. Die Ergebnisse dieser Vor-Ort-Besuche werden im Taschenbuch der Forschungsarbeitsgruppe als Fallstudien aufgeführt sein.
